yay for voting yourself a raise [Nov. 9th, 2006|10:20 pm]
[mood | amused]

Hey I just voted myself I raise y'all. I occasionally waitress now and luckily for me proposition 202 I just voted for on tuesday passed which moves the minimum wage for those who earn tips up to 3.75 from 2.13. I was at 2.15 so when I get back to Az after christmas I get a raise.

yay and they also passed the ban against smoking anywhere but your own residence. No more smoky clothing after bowling.

also it appears that Az might be the first state to reject a constitutional amendment to redefining marraige as between a man and a woman, which is positive, surprising, but positive.

an animal rights legistlislation went through too

lost the senate vote though:( do you know what nasty commercials they had on the radio for the senate race "Jim pederson (the dem.)has expressed views that are similiar to John Kerry the same John Kerry that recently insulted our troops...I'm John Kyl and I appprove this message." it pissed me off I wanted to yell "get the goddamn facts straight he was insulting Bush not the troops". It really made me dislike John Kyl - that he would approve something so moronic.grr.

The blog site about the election results in Az are hilarious though. The conservative rep. of Az are steaming out their ears about all of the "liberal" propositions passed and telling all the "californians" here to "go back to their own state and be liberal." it is highly amusing

holy shit i have to go to organic chem bye

[mood | happy- but worried]

Alphonse came back to life the other day and is working fine but I'm thinkimg of making him my desktop and getting a new laptop anyway cause he is kinda ify I think so I don't know if he can handle to much more of the travelingness and what not so I don't save anything to him with out backing it up on one of my flash drives. so I dunno I'm really happy he is still alive but I'm worried that he will relapse.

[mood | I miss alphonse]

I do believe dear alphonse has passed or gone into a coma... he kept making these clicking noises and turning off everytime I pressed the button to start him until he wouldn't start at all last night. it was so sad.
I don't think I'm going to fix him or try to. I might have some one try to look at him... but he had other problems with over heating and the such so I think I might just buy a new laptop.
my roommate said I should get a new one since thanksgiving is coming up and there is always that huge sale after thanks giving.
I probably will but it that kinda sad becuase that is the same sale I got alphonse at three years ago.

happy [Aug. 24th, 2006|02:33 pm]
Today I almost was accepted into the latino society except I had an attack of the concience and told them I was not hispanic. My friend (whose hispanic) from precal and I went to study in the cesar chavez building and this lady came over and greeted us and well if you pronounce one of the n's differently in my name it sounds a little spanish so I did that and I talk to the lady for a bit and when they went into spanish I was able to follow pretty much. They wanted me to come to the meeting for hispanic physiology majors but I have to work that night anyway so I said so. But after the lady left my friend asked me if I actually was hispanic ( she had asked if I spoke spanish before to which I replied somewhat) and I had to be honest and said no. It was really tempting to say yes a join a new culture for a little while. But that was kinda fun it is interesting, people see the color of my skin here and usually assume I'm hispanic its kinda fun.

Lovely apt [Aug. 23rd, 2006|11:17 am]
Since I went grocery shoping yesterday my love for my apartment has increased 35% it is so lovely to go home and know you actually have something edible that you would like to eat. Plus all my roomates are there now Juna disapeared for two weeks after she said she going home to china or was it taiwan for one week I was worried but now she back she's lovely and so cheerful, very talkative, and nice. and my other roomate Alisha (I think) just moved in monday she from up in Tuba City Arizona which is actually on the reservation I don't know what tribe she is, maybe I'll ask. and then there is Yang she is also from china or taiwan. She she cute, nice, very small and quiet she's the one whose bike was stolen. Alisha is a comic book fan she has a spiderman comforter which is pretty hot. Juna and her boyfriend know how to cook so damn good chinese food they've invited me to have dinner with them when they are cooking several times.

anyway I'm so happy in my new home did I mention my apartment has a pool, a rec room, a study room, and workout facility. and laundry area too but thats pretty standard. Its only a ten minute bike ride to campus. I really love it. But the area is kinda shady. I mean I'm not saying nothing about nothing but there is a dollar tree and two 99cents stores, a loan store, and mcdonalds within five blocks of my apartment and(at all times) there is a police car and a secuirty officer stationed at the front of the grocery store within five blocks from the apartment.

bad luck [Aug. 22nd, 2006|11:12 am]
Bad luck has been congregating around me lately.

Wednesday: I caught a cold. when a tried to buy my books online other people kept buying the books I chose before I got to the checkout.

friday: half way on the way to my japanese competecy exam I realized both tires on my bike were flat.
At the exam the expected us to have a brief conversation in japanese with one of the exam proctors, do a listening portion, read and answer questions for three passages in japanese, answer 25 grammar multiple choice problems, and write a short essay on our summer in japanese all in under 2 hours.
After all that I had to walk bike half a mile to find a gas station at which it took five tries with the help of the stocker at the station to get the air machine started.

Saturday: I tried to enquire about getting internet at my apartment COX says they don't serve my apartment complex the office at the apartment complex says they do. I checked my mail box that e evening after work there was a note that said I had package at the office but unfortunately I had to work the entire time the office was open the next day.

Sunday:I woke up at 7am to search for internet so I could see if my test results Pima college was still locked down at 8am on sunday so was the U of A so I went to my apartment and slept for a bit before I went to my grandparents house. I talked to them for a bit and used their internet to check I didn't get quite a goood enough grade to be in 201 they said which was expected since I have never conversed with a native speaker in japanese in my life. So I couldn't take 201 which I had already bought the books for since classes started on monday. so I cut it from my schedule and decided to take spanish 202 which for some reason the computer started flipping out about and wouldn't allow me to add to my schedule. this meant I was going to have to get up early to go down the U before my first class tomorrow to schedule it.

Mon: I have two classes in the same building on the same day which is somewhat rare anyway that morning and for some reason I looked at my afternoon clases room number on my schedule and sat down in there and only remember after stareing at the handout for sometime that precal was my first class not physics so I had to run up a couple flights of stairs and was late for my first class of the semester. After that I biked to Pima and asked them about my associates degree because I was supposed to earn it after completing my summer courses they told me I had to apply for graduation during the summer for that and to call them back after labor day to receive a degree in december. So after that I biked all the way back to my apartment to eat since I hadn't that day. I think my bad luck is spreading because my poor roomates bike was stolen so I got my car and gave her a ride up to campus.Anyway when I biked back up to school and locked my bike it started raining and I had to bike somewere else on campus later and the seat felt dry so I got on. Turned out it functioned more like a sponge so that was enjoyable. Then I found out I had to actually stay for my 6pm-9:30pm lab (usually there is no lab the first week) so I didn't have my bikelights.

Today - my laptop will not connect to the internet at the U of A.

+ out of all the textbooks I bought the japanese books which now I don't need have arrived first.

IS THE KANJI POWER IN YOU [May. 16th, 2006|09:59 am]
IS THE KANJI POWER IN YOU
- I think that is my favorite line out of all these last few weeks it been kinda hellish with exams, projects, presentations, tests and work these last few weeks. Some of the students and teachers are snapping. It was hilarious Susan in my spanish class said when the teacher asked for the title of her presentation said
- I can't tell you its in my presentation - the teacher asked again and she said
- how about you just wait, okay. Is that okay. How about we do that, alright.-
any way I'm all done with school besides summer classes. I'm coming back until June 8th so I can go to Baby J's graduation.

Isn't it funny how I have forgotten everything I wanted remember to say..
-hmm spring break in LA was cool hang out with my older brother and his fiance lauren.
- its kinda nice to have a sister I'm really getting to know her and like her a lot. we had fun discussing my twin brothers lack of good taste in women. I found out random assorted things about her life like when she was four her parents put put her into school and she didn't know any english at that point (only chinese and vietnamese) and she cried so much the principal put her in a closet.
anyway currently my grades are fscked mostly because my idiotic chem teacher and partially because of me. Also I have an evil Japanese teacher - he may seem like he is laughing with you, but really he is laughing at you.

Yesterday was thrilling I had to work 11 hours with maybe a only a 10 minute break to eat. on top of that I had a quite annoying cold so my nose was stuffed up and running at the same time I also had a headache and cramps to top it off, it was quite thrilling and being the friday of Rodeo Holiday it was ridiculously busy. I was pleasant in a fake way although I am kinda pissed at Nicole for not sweeping up all the glass shards on the floor from the glass she broke. I just happened to I kneel down I got glass shards in my knee last night.
The people at work think I'm nice and quiet -even my boss. They -even my boss also have sort of running bet going for when I'm going to explode and kill everyone -- My boss Jerry(not the other one kathy whom has recently acquired the nickname of The Troll) said something like " Its always the quite ones you don't expect."
Anyway I'm focused on getting rid of my cold as spring break is coming up soon and I going to LA to visit my brother. We're going to six flags, to the huntington(which has japanese gardens(with koi), english rose gardens, herb gardens, an english tea house, a small art museum, ect...), to an art museum and hopefully to little tokyo again---and also there is a comic book convention and we are sure as hell going.

school [Feb. 8th, 2006|08:22 am]
Japanese ---class has become an interesting version of hell but I think maybe slowly I will adapt and it maybe won't seem so much like hell so much anymore.

Spanish-- class lets learn slang -esposas - literally- plural of wife - slang- handcuffs - because apparently with two wives you stuck and can't do shit.

Chemistry --- my competent excellent german lady professor was switched last week for a chemistry professor version of peter from the family guy. only a little taller and greyer but he is equally incompetent. So I'm pissed, especially since he took 5 out of ten point on my homework assingment because my work wasn't clear enough ignoring the fact that there was work and that all my answers were correct. I had the same type of work on my chem quiz on with the other teacher and got a 9 out 10 only missed one point because I forgot to put units on one problem. What worse is he blathers on and on and pretty much only teaches us what we could learn by reading from the book. He spent and entire two hour class talking about entropy I fricken understood the concept of entropy in the 9th or 10th grade and it only took me a minute to figure it out it. okay enough ranting...

Bio-- the tendium of lab turning a lab report everyday is very real.

Chemlab ---actually semi relaxing.

Japanese [Jan. 23rd, 2006|06:50 pm]
[mood | ....]

Ahh japanese the class that I hadn't gone to yet when I posted last.

Well lets just say I had to memorize 65 kanji over the weekend

This class is going to kill me.

But it is strangely enjoyable at times.

But most of the time it leads to shortness of breath, dizziness, and high blood pressure.

[mood | fluffy]

first week of classes has started
Spanish well one thing good about being close to the border is that he as already propose a field trip down there. He said if he liked us he probably wouldn't leave us there. My spanish teacher is a nice guy he put all the tests on tuesdays so we'd have time to study over the weekend-- he actually said study or pray - pray for bilingual angels to help you.
Chem looks difficult she has already assigned three tables from the text for us to memorize as review.
Bio- some of her masters work were on the jumping spiders of lemon mountain. She was proud to tell us that she was the first person to ever observe their mating and volunteered to bring in spider porn for us to watch.
Japanese I'm going tonight --I argued with the downtown campus about reinstating my original class. I tried to keep it civil I didn't say "maybe you wouldn't have to cancel the class if you hadn't used all that money to reinstall grass on the campus- whats more is that the original grass wasn't dead in the first place - secondly let us remember Tucson exists in the desert based on this fact one should landscape appropriately and economically which means laying down sod in generally impractical in the fricken desert." I suppose it would be rude to say that and I haven't but its what I feel like saying.
chemlab same teacher as last semester. I still have to question her about my grade.

Thats it I'm getting a male avatar on gaia.
I present sound theory on using snake poison that binds to receptor site within the and blocks electrical signals could be used in part to kill godzilla in a naruto vs godzilla.
I supposed it was stupid to go to such an idiotic thread.
And stupid to say somethig that involved science.
but this one guy called me silly obsessed fangirl who would always take the side of bishi. God naruto is you boy not a bishi and he isn't even pretty like junior.
I just wanted to make an arguement play devil advocate
but they wouldn't even acknowledge the science of my arguement.
this one guy he said

"Don't you know that fangirl logic always fails at any sort of versus discussion? They'll always find a way, so long as their "bishie" can pull through.

Now if only they could apply that headstrong attitude to real life endeavours."

I wanted to tell him to f@#$-off and that I was getting close to straight A's in college had 18 credit hours and worked over 30 hours a week so obviously I had my shit together and I doubt he could say as much about his life. But it was aia so I had to be civil. So instead I just asked him why he was attacking me personally and if he felt threatened by my arguement. I think his name was Mireo.

Eventually one guys acknowledge that they wouldn't listen to me cause my answer was based in reality.
but I'm still going to get a guy avatar.

Chem Lab [Sep. 2nd, 2005|02:02 pm]
[mood | hmm]

My Chem Lab started today it looks like it is going to be difficult the but overall quality.
The instructor is a graduate student she is interesting and she really does not take shit from anyone.
however she is still nice.
-she gave us her cell phone number so we can call us if we have any questions about the lab
she told us only to call her for about chem lab questions
and then revised that and said that we could also call her for sex ed. questions because she had taught that class as well up until a year or two ago.
-She questioned the class 4-5 times to see if anyone knew they were pregnant or had been missing their period lately because if that was so they'd be given permanent note taking positions within the lab groups.
-she reinforced the notion of stop, drop and roll.

It seems that she is terribly experience in the lab it seems she has seen quite a few accidents in her time and was able to describe them with clarity and enough gory items to convince anyone to use the correct safety precaution - like the story of the girl who spilled acid on her shirt and refused to take off her shirt and stand under the safety shower in the room because she was embarrassed to take her shirt off in front of everyone and instead ran to the nurse but by that time a great deal of the skin on her chest came off and they had to graft skin on to her chest.

NOT A HEDGEHOG [Aug. 31st, 2005|10:25 am]
So I was walking up the path to my house one saturday night after a crappy 10 hour work day and there was something crawling down the path it was fuzzy and small like a hedgehog atleast from what I could see it was in the dark shadows of the very dark path as I carefully stepped over it I noticed that it was a little smaller than a hedge hog should be and that I had yet to see a hedge hog in the area I looked closer - it was a rather large tarantula.

too much money [Aug. 26th, 2005|08:13 am]
[mood | stressed]

don't you hate it when all the money items seems to manifest themselves at once
Recently I've had to try and come up with money for all these items
- car registration and assorted fees $26
- insurance $261
- classes $868
- books and other required school supplies (lab goggles and such) $420
- new battery for car $120
- new back brake pads for car $155
- fixing alfonse- I don't know yet how much its going to cost to fix the fan.
My parents have offered to pay for some of my school costs but I really wanted to handle it all by myself if I can, but its just getting to be so much.

Traveling fun significantly diminished by random guys met during transportation

- on the plane ride to wisconsin ( this was actually stopping in texas) I was sitting next so guy in his 20's and we were talking for awhile I really wanted to go to sleep but I couldn't think of a polite way to break off the conversation. And then he says "so isn't your boyfriend coming with you up to Wisconsin." I had never mentioned a boyfriend nor had we ever discussed the topic of or love lives so I told straight up "I don't have one." he's like "really." and then a few minutes later he's like "so you ever been or think about going to Northern California (which was where he was from) North Carolina (which where he was going to be for awhile)" I replied " never been there, I probably won't get a chance to go there with college and all." and then we changed subject later he said my hairstyle was really cute.

-on the escalators right after the security checkpoint in Lax the guy who checked me through security( he also looked like he was in his twenties) was standing behind me. I was rather confused because I thought he would be still checking people through security. When we got to the top he asked if I would like him to walk me to my gate and I was like "I think I can manage" but he started to walk with me anyway luckily he spotted some other woman that worked there on the way and had to go help her or whatever but that was rather weird.

-the person from the airport stagecoach which I had to ride to get home insisted on discussing my love life which I decide to completely BS which was momentarily fun and then gave me a long lecture how you have to wait to find the right person you won't find them if you go looking for them. and then when he set my bag down at the door he's like "if I was twenty years younger I would ask you out" and I fake laughed said good bye and thank you for the ride and hurried inside.

Well I'm back in AZ- the residency office have refused to consider me resident because I haven't filed my taxes as and independent for two years. so pima for this semester next semester U of A.
My visit to LA was I got to hang out with my older brother and his girlfriend Lauren which was fun although some of the time I felt like a third wheel it was still a lot of fun.We went to little tokyo and went to china town there we had dimsum it was quite tasty. Lauren original chinese name is Tien and her last name is Ho. She is really cute and funny.- I feel kinda weird saying about some who is atleast a decade older than me but she was adorable...hmmm anyway we played scrabble for three straight nights in a row I beat my brother by over eighty this first night - it was a magnificent victory. the next two nights he beat me (by less than 15 pints) but thats 'cause I was drinking...just kidding... well technically I was but I was had one glass of dessert wine or Alaze those evenings. anyway we saw wedding crashers which was hilarious Nato was somewhat offended and amused by the the artist in the movie nato being an artist an' all. The people at the coldstone creamery were funny because they'd all start spontaneously singing for tips. Lauren and I went out to lunch at the cheesecake factory restaurant one time when she got out of work early and then we went shopping. We also went to this place with a private library art museum and gorgeous gardens they short a a scene from starsky and hutch there as well as the wedding planner. They have all kinds of gardens rose gardens, herb gardens, japanese gardens. And they had koi fish and bonsai. the was english teahouse and they had really good tea and I've now had a proper cucumber sandwich and I got say they are not as good as they sound- but they had really good lemon bars there. hmm I feel like tea ... I think I have some and maybe go watch star trek.
